Steel Panel Enclosed
Q Series packages can accommodate multiple blower styles and profiles, select "Blowers" above for more information
The Q series is a family of enclosed PD blower packages from 15 HP to 300 HP with pressures to 15 PSI and vacuum to 16" Hg. Powder coated 16 gauge sheet metal panels are mounted to a structural steel frame that encapsulates and protects the entire blower package. The weather proof design means it can be installed outdoors. For each model, proper blower selection is made by carefully considering bearing life, % of max. pressure, speed, temperature rise, and noise level.
Features
- Up to 20 dBA noise reduction
- Suitable for installation outdoors
- Integral to blower package
- Powder coated 16 gauge metal panels
- Ample forced air ventilation system
- Hinged doors and lift off panels
Q Series Literature
The sound attenuating enclosure panels are lined with 1.5” or 2” thick acoustic material that absorbs and dissipates noise energy. Panel edges are trimmed with a neoprene bulb gasket that tightly seals against the frame virtually eliminating “noise leaks”. Quarter turn compression latches are used on access panels which allows quick easy service of the routine service items. These panels are either “lift off” or hinged based on their weight. Other panel mounting methods are used depending on the panel location as well.
A forced air cooling fan is sized to provide ample cooling of the enclosure so the interior temperature of the enclosure stays within a maximum 15 degrees of the outside temperature at design conditions. Ventilation ducts eliminate line of site openings to dramatically reduce emanated noise.
A side access filter element makes service easy. The combination inlet silencer - filter incorporates multiple silencing tubes around the outside of the base and a central tubular steel acoustic section layered with absorptive media for maximum attenuation. A dry type replaceable element removes 99% of particles 2 micron and larger.
A concentric passage discharge silencer has a welded steel sheet and plate construction. An internal steel baffle acoustically packed with absorption material is good for operating temperatures of 325 F. This design delivers excellent pulsation control with superior frequency attenuation even above transition speeds. Silencer is sized for minimal pressure drop with a maximum allowable not to exceed .2 PSIG. The silencer is positioned as close to the blower connection as possible to maximize effectiveness.
The relief valve is rated for the full capacity of the blower. The diaphragm assist spring loaded design maintains repeatable set pressures after numerous cycles.
Motor nameplate HP is not exceeded even at relief valve settings. This leaves a 15% service factor for extra safety. All inlet and discharge losses of the filter, silencers and check valves are factored in the performance calculations.
Belt drives are designed for maximum belt life and minimum bearing load, with a service factor of 150 to 200 % used.
A number of options are available to “customize” the package for your application.
